Choose consistency over volume
A nursery does not need to post every day. Two useful, recognisable posts each week are more sustainable than a burst of daily content followed by silence.
Choose one regular planning slot. Decide the topic, draft the caption, confirm image permissions, and schedule the post before returning to operational work.
Rotate four post types
Use a simple rotation: show how children learn through an everyday activity; answer a common prospective-parent question; introduce part of your approach or team; and share a practical reminder or event.
This mix serves current families and prospective families without turning the feed into a stream of sales messages.
Write captions with a purpose
Open with the useful point, add one concrete detail, then invite a relevant next step. If the post is about play, explain what children were practising. If it is about admissions, tell families exactly how to enquire.
Avoid claims such as “the best nursery” unless you can substantiate them. Never imply an inspection outcome you have not received.
Protect children and staff
Follow your setting's consent, safeguarding, and mobile-device policies. Check backgrounds for names, registers, screens, or location clues. Do not post a child simply because a general consent box was once ticked—apply your current policy to each use.
When in doubt, photograph the environment, resources, or practitioners' hands demonstrating an activity rather than identifiable children.
